Long Prairie teen dies in crash

A Long Prairie teen was killed in a two-vehicle crash east of Long Prairie on Highway 27.

Jacob R. Karolus, 16, was killed when his car lost control on the wet road and spun into the path of an oncoming truck, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.

Authorities said Karolus' vehicle was hit broadside resulting in his death.

Kevin J. Carlson, 36, of Brainerd was driving the Dodge Ram truck involved in the crash.

Both drivers were wearing seatbelts.
