The West Central Minnesota Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) recently awarded Lois Croonquist, finance and benefits manager at STAR Energy Services, with the ninth annual HR Professional Award of Excellence.
The Award of Excellence recognizes HR professionals who have made significant contributions to the HR profession in their place of employment, have been instrumental in the development of HR strategies that are linked with and support the organization’s strategic goals and have had a profound effect on their company culture.
Croonquist has been instrumental in developing human resource policies and procedures at STAR Energy Services.
She started in accounting, and her role quickly expanded to include human resources as the company grew from 14 employees to a current employee group of 30 employees. Croonquist manages the accounting and human resource functions of the organization.
Croonquist graduated with an Associate of Applied Sciences accounting degree, with honors, from Alexandria Technical and Community College.
She was a member of Phi Theta Kappa All-Academic team and recipient of the Merit, Charles Marboe, and Phelps Accounting Achievement Awards.
Croonquist is a member of West Central Minnesota SHRM, national SHRM, and obtained her Professional in Human Resource certification in 2010. She is a board member and treasurer for Alexandria Hockey Association and is also a classroom volunteer for Voyager Elementary School.
STAR Energy Services is a consulting firm providing services to rural electric cooperatives. These services include electrical engineering, inspection services, mapping, safety, electrical testing, computer technology, and software development. STAR just completed its move into a new building, south of I-94.
