Local walleye anglers featured on TV show
Several local and area walleye anglers will be featured on a Fox Sports North (FSN) TV program this Sunday, May 3.
The program, an episode of Minnkota Outdoors TV, will air at noon.
This week's show will feature tournament coverage of the 2008 Lake Minnewaska Fall Walleye Classic in Glenwood.
It will feature local anglers Kevin Beyer and Rocky Burgau from Alexandria, and Tim Schoeck of Osakis as they compete amongst a 75-team field for the title of 2008 Fall Walleye Classic Champions.
Other area anglers featured in the show include Brad and Jared Carr of Ottertail; Steve Paulson, and the late Tony O'Keefe, from Morris; and former Alexandrians Kent and Adam Andersen of Amery, Wisconsin.
Minnkota Outdoors TV host Corey Bohn of Glenwood documented the live tournament coverage at this past September's Lake Minnewaska Fall Walleye Classic. Mark and Brian Berle of Gibbon and Shakopee fished their way to a $21,000 payday.
"This year's show really turned out well and captures the excitement of competitive walleye fishing," said Bohn, who is the Fall Walleye Classic tournament director. "The top three teams in the past September's Fall Walleye Classic came from 18th, 14th and 20th place on day one, to finish 1-2-3 on the LakeMaster leaderboard on day two."
Bohn said this Sunday's episode of Minnkota Outdoors TV will provide area anglers the opportunity to learn first-hand the various tactics and techniques the teams used to climb to the top of the leaderboard, and to apply that knowledge when fishing Lake Minnewaska this open water season.
The program on FSN is available in expanded cable and on Dish Network Channel 436 and DirecTV Channel 641.
