Groups of students, parents and teachers are working together to communicate their sustainability projects or initiatives, such as installing a refillable water bottle station, starting a school garden or reminding everyone to turn the lights off when they leave a room.

By September 17, each team will submit their posters for the "Green Your School" sign contest to the Minnesota Green Schools Coalition Facebook timeline (Facebook.com/MNGreenSchools). Three winners will be selected to win prizes from the Minnesota Twins, including free tickets, an autographed baseball bat and an invitation to the field for recognition on game day.

The Twins director of community relations, Bryan Donaldson, said the Twins see "Green Your School" as an experiential way to make sustainability simple and understandable for children and educators in the community. "Green Your School" is put on by USGBC-MN through the Minnesota Green Schools Coalition.
