Local precinct GOP straw poll vote results

Last night's Douglas County GOP caucus took place at Jefferson High School. It began at 7 p.m. and ended with a straw poll vote for candidate endorsements for the governor and United States Senate race.

Marty Seifert took away the most votes, 82, for the endorsement to run for governor against Gov. Mark Dayton. As of noon today, Seifert was the leading candidate for the state, sitting at 28.67 percent of the total votes. All but one caucus had reported in.

Jim Abeler received 50 votes, the most in the precinct, to run against Sen. Al Franken. Statewide, Julianne Ortman won the 2014 Minnesota Caucuses for the United States Senate race.
