Local college resource event led by Franken staff members
Key members of U.S. Senator Al Franken’s staff will be at Jefferson High School in Alexandria to lead a “College Affordability Resource Night” on Thursday, May 1 at 6:30 p.m.
The purpose is to help area families understand their best options for paying for college. The event is free and open to the public.
“Navigating the process of paying for college can be incredibly complicated for parents and students alike,” Franken said. “From filling out college applications and financial aid forms, to understanding financial aid packages and ultimately paying for an education, these are some of the most important decisions a family can make.”
The event will be led by Franken’s Minnesota Education advisor Dan Solomon and will include financial aid information and a presentation from a local college financial aid counselor. The meeting is one of several that Franken’s staff will hold around the state.
