Recycle Your Holidays runs from November 15 to January 31 and is a statewide effort to collect and recycle holiday lights that are old, unwanted or no longer work.

The program employs individuals with disabilities at local vocational centers throughout Minnesota who collect and sort the lights for recycling.

The program is free for businesses to participate as a collection site. RAM provides free bins and promotes the program in partnership with other websites and WCCO. Vocational center staff and clients pick up the lights and bring them to their facility to be safely recycled.

Alexandria locations include Voyager Elementary, Discovery Middle School, Alexandria Light and Power, Ace Hardware, Runestone Electric Association, Lincoln Elementary, Jefferson High School and Woodland Elementary.
