Artists Jeanne Back and Rebecca Albright, both of Alexandria, will have their art featured in an artist’s reception on Tuesday, January 21 from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at Lake Region Arts Council (LRAC), 133 South Mill Street, Fergus Falls. The public is invited to attend.

The LRAC Grantee Invitational Juried Exhibit in the LRAC/McKnight Gallery will feature the work of 17 regional artists. The show begins Monday, January 6 and closes Friday, March 28.

The LRAC Grantee Invitational Juried Exhibit will also feature the work of LRAC Fellowship, Career Development, Artist Small Grant and Legacy Individual Artists grantees.

Currently, a solo exhibit by Laura Youngbird is featured in the LRAC Solo Gallery and will continue through the month of January.

Youngbird’s exhibit displays themes that document the journey of her family as they assimilate into a non-Indian culture.

The largest piece in the exhibit is named Kirkbride, after the historic buildings and grounds of the former state hospital in Fergus Falls.

Youngbird sketched the background for the collage of the Kirkbride and assembled it at a recent community event. The piece includes historic and modern photographs of the building.

For more information about upcoming exhibits, call the LRAC office at 1-800-262-2787.
