Local artist creates painting of historic Alexandria
Tracy Anderson, a local artist, recently completed a 2’x4’ oil painting of historic downtown Alexandria from the 1950s era.
The painting was commissioned for Bell State Bank and Trust in Alexandria and will be installed in its lobby area the first week of December.
Anderson met with Rachel Barduson, historian, to research Alexandria’s history for the commissioned painting.
“It was a challenge for me to find out what some of the stores were, as I was using small old photos to create this painting,” Anderson said.
Anderson is considering making smaller fine art prints available, but the details are still in the works.
Anderson currently has work displayed at Bell State Bank and Trust, Sixth Avenue Wine and Ale and The Uptown Gallery in Fargo, North Dakota. Her work can also be viewed at www.tracyandersonfineart.com or by appointment in her studio by calling (320) 808-5446.
