Leuschke leads Blue Anchors past St. Cloud

The Alexandria Blue Anchors got their second win of the season on Wednesday night as they handed St. Cloud a 7-3 loss at Faber Field.

Alexandria broke through in the middle innings with two runs in the third, a run in the fourth and three more in the sixth. Alexandria’s Dalton Leuschke had a huge game, going 4-for-4 with a run scored and three RBIs. The former Cardinal had two doubles, while Roman Collins also hit a solo shot and finished with two walks and three runs scored. Leuschke has seven hits in 12 at-bats to start this season.

Andrew Thome gave the Blue Anchors four solid innings of relief to pick up the win. He fanned six during that time and allowed just one run on three hits and a walk.

Alexandria is back home tonight, Thursday, as St. Cloud comes to town for a 6:35 p.m. first pitch at Knute Nelson.
