Letter - Start reading to your kids
To the editor:
Reading is so important for children. At a much younger age, children need a large vocabulary. The easiest way to get children their vocabulary is to read to them.
Parents should start reading to their children even before they can sit up. Lie on the floor, head to head, and read to them. This way they will have the vocabulary they need.
Parents may ask, why start now? They won't be able to read or speak for a long time. This is the age where their brains are doing the most learning. They will remember the words you say. They will have a much easier time in school when they have already learned these words.
