Letter - Public's help needed to recover stolen trailer
To the editor:
I am writing in regards to a recent theft at the Douglas County Developmental Achievement Center (DAC). The DAC is a non-profit organization in Alexandria that provides vocational and non-vocational programming to adults with developmental disabilities.
On Monday night, the trailer that we use to transport work was stolen from our facility. I'm deeply saddened by this act as it affects the employment of the individuals that we provide service to. Also, as a non-profit organization the cost of replacing this trailer will further affect the programming to our consumers by burdening our budget with replacement costs.
We know the chances of finding the trailer are probably minimal, but just maybe someone in our community has seen it and is willing to help. If you have any information that could lead to its return, we would greatly appreciate your assistance.
The double axel steel trailer is approximately 26 feet long and 8 to 10 feet wide with a triangle front and ball hitch. It can be used to transport up to four snowmobiles. The license on the trailer is ABSH299. Thank you for your support.
