Lessons from professionals
The Family and Consumer Science (FACS) class at Jefferson High School (JHS) in Alexandria recently gained professional and expert information in the culinary field from community resources.
Kent Kopp, general manager of Doolittle's, shared information about server training, employable characteristics and running the Front of the House. Duane Rostad (pictured), general manager of Rudy's Redeye Grill, shared expertise in catering and event planning.
Students also continued their final week of shadowing at Broadway Bistro with chef/owner Matthew Jensen, at Alexandria Technical and Community College with chef Susan Slupe and at the JHS kitchen.
