Legislative candidates confirmed for Alexandria forums

A pair of Legislative Candidate Forums are scheduled during October in Alexandria with the goal of providing Douglas County area residents with the opportunity to meet and learn about the Minnesota House and Senate candidates vying to represent the area.

Each forum will have a time for questions prepared by the Alexandria Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce Legislative Committee along with a time for audience questions. Following the forum, participating candidates will be available to meet with constituents.

MN State House Candidates Forum (Districts 8B, 12A, and 12B): October 8 from 5 to 7 p.m., Alexandria Technical and Community College, Room 743.

Candidates confirmed to attend:

District 8B: Representative Mary Franson (incumbent) and Bob Cunniff.

District 12B: Representative Paul Anderson (incumbent) and Rick Rosenfield.

District 12A: No candidates confirmed at this time.

MN State Senate Candidates Forum (Districts 8 and 12): October 15 from 6 to 7:30 p.m., Alexandria Technical and Community College, Room 743.

Candidates confirmed to attend:

District 8: Senator Bill Ingebrigtsen (incumbent) and Dan Skogen.

District 12: Torrey Westrom and John Schultz.

These forums are open to everyone and are free of charge. Due to facility space restrictions, the number of attendees allowed into Room 743 will be restricted to approximately 250 persons.

Entry and seating will be on a first-come, first-served basis. Doors open 15 minutes prior to the events. Overflow seating with a closed circuit television feed has been set up in a nearby space to accommodate additional seating needs.
