Post 87 beat North St. Paul 10-5 in 10 innings in their final game after taking care of a team from Gillette, Wyoming 5-1 earlier on Sunday. They dropped an 8-4 game against Mitchell, South Dakota on Saturday and a 7-4 game against Rochester on Friday after winning the opener 3-0 against Giant Valley.

Ben Allen and Patrick Leary were almost unstoppable offensively. They combined for 19 hits in the five games, including multiple-hit games for both of them in four of the five contests.

ALEXANDRIA 10,

NORTH ST. PAUL 5 (F/10)

The offense saved its best for last in a 10-5 win over North St. Paul on Sunday night.

Post 87 took a 5-5 game into the top of the 10th, where they scored five runs to open things up. Parker Bowden made that hold up with a perfect bottom of the inning as he took over for Nick Knoblach, who had worked all nine innings before that.

Knoblach was a workhorse for his team. He settled in after allowing two runs in the second inning and held North St. Paul to just two runs over the next seven frames. He allowed five run, four earned, on six hits and one walk, while striking out four.

Ben Allen and Toby Helgeson each had three hits to lead the offense. Zach Peterson added a hit and two RBIs, while Patrick Leary went 2-for-5 with two runs scored.

Alexandria 5, Gillette 1

Mitch Thompson was the catalyst in a 5-1 win over Gillette in Alexandria's first game on Sunday.

Thompson held Gillette to just three hits on his way to a complete-game win. He walked two and struck out eight, while limiting them to just one unearned run in the fifth.

Post 87 gave him a 2-0 lead in the first and added three more over their final two innings. Leary had two more hits in this game, while Allen went 3-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored.

MITCHELL 8,

ALEXANDRIA 4

Post 87 overcame a 4-2 deficit to tie things up at four apiece in the second before Mitchell put up two runs in the third and fifth innings to secure the win on Saturday.

Thompson threw well for Alexandria out of the bullpen. He was perfect over 1 1/3 innings after Bowden and Chris Leary had worked on the mound before him. Allen and Leary continued their torrid weekend at the plate with two hits apiece.

ROCHESTER 7,

ALEXANDRIA 4

Alexandria looked in control early before Rochester scored four runs in the sixth inning on its way to a 7-4 win on Friday.

Post 87 led 4-1 in this game, but Rochester chipped away in the middle innings. They scored once in the third and fourth innings before using the four-run sixth to take their first lead of the game.

Knoblach had three of Alexandria's eight hits on offense. Allen and Leary each added two, while Cody McLaughlin went 1-for-3 with a run scored.

ALEXANDRIA 3,

GIANT VALLEY 0

Blake Stockert made sure Post 87 got off to the right start in St. Paul with a complete-game gem against Giant Valley. Stockert struck out eight, walked one and allowed just three hits on his way to the win.

Alexandria used two runs in the second to give him a lead he wouldn't relinquish. Thompson had two hits and Helgeson scored twice to lead the offense.
