Andrew Thome and Jordan Lee will represent the Blue Anchors on the North Division All-Star team in the annual game on July 22 at 6:45 p.m. at Kapco Park in Mequon, Wisconsin.

 Lee, an outfielder for Alexandria, is hitting .354 in 99 at-bats with 17 runs scored and 15 RBIs. Thome is 2-0 on the mound with a 2.32 ERA in 38 2/3 innings pitched this season. He has 32 strikeouts and 22 walks during that span.

Mankato and Waterloo had the most all-star selections from the North with five each. The Madison Mallards had six players named to the all-star team from the South side.

On the field, the Blue Anchors were struggling at the plate in a six-game losing streak until they finally broke out for a 7-4 victory on Saturday night in Thunder Bay.

Spencer Koopmans picked up the victory for the Blue Anchors on the mound, going 5 2/3 innings and allowing only one earned run. Ricky Sanchez led the Alexandria offense in the game by going 1-for-3 with three RBIs and one run scored.

The Blue Anchors dropped the second game of the series 13-11 against Thunder Bay on Sunday. Relief pitcher Kevin Walsh was handed the loss Sunday after he allowed five earned runs in two innings pitched. The Blue Anchors led 11-9 heading into the bottom of the ninth inning when Thunder Bay’s Robb Paller hit a walk-off grand slam.

Cam Duzenack led the Blue Anchors’ offense by going 2-for-4 with two RBIs in the game, and Jake Bergren also drove in two RBIs and scored two runs in a 2-for-4 day at the plate.

The Blue Anchors currently hold a 3-9 record in the second half of the Northwoods League season. They return home for a two game series against La Crosse on Tuesday and Wednesday evening at Knute Nelson Ballpark.
