Leadership coach to speak at Catalyst Covenant

Catalyst Covenant Church in Alexandria will host "How to Lead by Serving," by Mark Deterding, business leadership consultant with Triune Leadership Services, on Sunday, April 28 at 10 a.m. at Woodland School, 1410 South McKay Avenue, Alexandria.

The presentation is free and open to the public. Nursery care and classes for preschoolers will be available. Elementary kids will take part in the presentation, followed by an age-appropriate time of games, activities and reflection on the morning's theme.

Deterding will draw on Jesus' teachings, as well as on his own experience and insights. He will talk about developing God-given leadership capabilities.

Prior to Triune Leadership Services, Deterding worked in the printing industry for 35 years, holding senior leadership positions at Taylor Corporation, RR Donnelly and Banta Corporation. He is featured in Ken Blanchard's book Leading at a Higher Level and has been a featured speaker for the Ken Blanchard Companies Executive Forum.

He regularly speaks at colleges and universities, as well as to other executive forums on the principles of servant leadership and how to practically apply it to their lives.

In addition to his duties at Triune Leadership Services, Deterding serves on the boards of Directors at the Unity Foundation in Alexandria, Douglas County Habitat for Humanity and Mount Carmel Ministries and on the Center for Servant Leadership National Advisory Board for Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter.

He and his wife, Kim, have two sons.
