Law to speak at Country Bible
Terry Law will speak at Country Bible Church on Sunday, August 22 at 10 a.m.
Law is the founder and president of World Compassion Terry Law Ministries. Since 1969, he has travelled to countries that are hostile to the Gospel, such as the former Soviet Union and Iraq, to share the message of Jesus Christ and to support local churches and Christian relief programs.
Law is one of America's foremost speakers on nations that are normally closed to the Gospel. He preaches frequently in North America and the United Kingdom to encourage the church and let people know what is going on behind the scenes in closed nations.
Most recently, he has focused his ministry on Muslim nations such as Iraq. World Compassion's Shoes That Save program has given new shoes and Bibles to more than 30,000 Iraqi children since 2003.
In June 2004, Law had the privilege of meeting with Iraqi Prime Minister Iyad Allawi to discuss religious freedom in Iraq. And in August 2005, he met with the new prime minister, Ibrahim al-Jaafari, to urge him to include religious freedom in the new Iraqi constitution. ?
Law was one of the 2003 Alumni of the Year at Oral Roberts University (ORU). While attending ORU in 1969, he co-founded Living Sound, a music group that ministered in more than 40 countries. He was one of the first to go into the Soviet Union and other communist nations such as China, Hungary, Yugoslavia, Romania and Poland, first with Living Sound and later his own ministry.
He is the author of several books and booklets, including The Truth About Angels, How to Enter the Presence of God, The Power of Praise and Worship, and his most recent book The Hope Habit. His booklet The Story of Jesus has been translated into more than 70 languages, with an estimated 27 million copies distributed worldwide.
