Late rally lifts Eau Claire over Alexandria

The Blue Anchors led 1-0 midway through the game last night but fell 5-2 at the hands of Eau Claire.

The Express scored all five of their runs through the final four innings to grab a late lead. The Blue Anchors got one back in the bottom of the ninth on an RBI-single from Jordan Lee, but it wasn't enough. Lee drove in both of Alexandria's runs, while Craig Nennig and Lukas Hermanson were both 2-for-4.

Zach Muckenhirn took the loss for Alexandria despite going seven strong innings. He scattered seven hits and a walk but allowed just two earned runs.

The Blue Anchors (11-18) are back in action tonight against Eau Claire (16-14) with a 7:05 p.m. first pitch at Knute Nelson Ballpark.
