Lakers girls' golf tops at Red Wing

Stepping outside their regular league, the Minnewaska Laker girls' golf team found themselves in a field that included six of the top 10 ranked teams in Minnesota, and eight of the top 20 individuals in all three classes as they traveled to Red Wing Tuesday.

The Lakers' again emerged as winners, breaking the invitational record they set last year by posting a 318, eight strokes better than their previous total.

The win solidified Minnewaska's standing as the top team in the state as the squad extended their win streak to 54.

Senior Emily Roering earned runner-up honors with a 74 to lead Minnewaska.

Minnewaska Invite

The Minnewaska girls' golf team continues to dominate the West Central South Conference as the Lakers picked up their sixth win in as many WCC-South meets last Wednesday.

This time it came on their home course where the Lakers finished with the top four individual scores on their way to a team score of 158. Benson-Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunberg fin­ished with a score of 211.

Sarah Roering led the charge this time around with a 37 to earn medalist honors. Her sister, Emily Roering, was right behind her with a 39, while Allie Ostrander and Sam Falk tied for third with rounds of 41.

Minnewaska has amassed 54 points in conference play this year.

Benson Invite

The Minnewaska girls' golf team dominated another West Central South Conference meet with an easy win in Benson on Monday.

The Lakers posted the top five individual scores on their way to a team score of 156. Benson-KMS was second with a 200.

Emily Roering shot an even par 36 to take medalist honors. Sarah Roering, Allie Ostrander and Brianna Janu all shot rounds of 40 to tie for second place.

The Minnewaska girls' golf team had another dominating performance to post a team score of 144 and win its 26th straight West Central South Conference meet.

The Lakers posted the top five individual scores in the meet with Emily Roering taking first with a two-under par 34. Sarah Roering finished second with a 35, while Allie Ostrander and Brianna Janu rounded out the top four scorers for Minnewaska with 37 and 38, respectively.
