The workshop includes a wide range of activities such as wildlife watching, geocaching, nature walks and more.

The "I Can Camp!" crew will teach participants campsite set-up, fire starting, and outdoor cooking. Tents, air mattresses, cook stoves and more are provided, while participants bring only their personal items, groceries, and sleeping bag or bedding.

"People would like the chance to go camping, but many aren't sure where to start," said Bryce Anderson, interpretive services coordinator for the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (DNR) Division of Parks and Trails. "The I Can Camp! program is designed to make the out-of-doors accessible. Instructors will be there to make sure people have a safe and fun experience, and families will leave feeling more confident about going camping."

The DNR Division of Parks and Trails, Conservation Corps Minnesota, and REI are working together to make this program possible.

Two Conservation Corps crews will travel throughout the state to host 38 "I Can Camp!" workshops at participating Minnesota state parks and recreation areas.

To get ready to rough it, go to mndnr.gov/icancamp or call toll-free, 1-888-646-6367 for more information. To register for a workshop, visit www.stayatmnparks.com or call 1-866-85PARKS.
