Lahn on intermittent leave of absence
Alexandria School District 206 Superintendent Rick Lahn will be taking an intermittent leave of absence.
The Alexandria School Board approved the request at its December 16 meeting. The leave will be carried through to February 14 and was requested at the time for Lahn to care for his wife while she battles brain cancer.
Lahn will be working on a flexible schedule and will remain superintendent of schools during the leave period. He will still be responsible for all decisions that occur and will continue to report directly to the school board.
Former Superintendent Dr. Terry Quist will provide support by stepping into a contracted assistant superintendent position. He will be responsible for the construction of the new high school and daily operations of District 206 during Lahn’s absence.
