Kurt Strand benefit set
A chili feed and silent auction to benefit Kurt Strand will be held Sunday, June 22 from 1 to 5 p.m. at Forada Fire Hall. Donations and silent auction items are welcome.
Strand was diagnosed with cancer in April. The cancer is concentrated in his colon but has spread to his liver, and he is currently undergoing chemotherapy.
Strand has been a member of the Forada Fire Department for 12 years and is taking a leave of absence while he concentrates all of his efforts on recovery.
The funds raised will be given to the Strand family to help defray the costs associated with his treatment.
Supporting funds are provided by Thrivent Financial for Lutherans.
