Kraemer will go with Osakis to the Class A state team tournament and now as a singles player after winning the 6A individual tournament on Tuesday evening. Joining her from the 6A field is Sauk Centre’s Bethany Ellis and the Minnewaska duos of Jada Hoffman and Ellen Stensrud and Rachel Riley and Makenna Hanson in the doubles tournament.

Kraemer never dropped a game through her two matches on Tuesday on her way to the championship. The senior beat Maggie Buyck of Benson-KMS in the semifinals before downing Ellis in the finals. Both those came by scores of 6-0, 6-0.

Hoffman and Stensrud went through Osakis’ Katie Anderson and Alexa Hoffarth in the semifinals by a 6-2, 7-5 score. They then took care of their teammates 6-2, 6-2 to win the doubles championship. Riley and Hanson secured their spot at state with a 6-3, 6-3 win over Melrose’s Grace Brang and Madison Rausch in the semifinals.

Hoffman and Stensrud will face off against Katelyn Rice and Alexia Brascugli of Eveleth-Gilbert in the first round of the state doubles tournament on October 24 at 10 a.m. Riley and Hanson will battle Katie Tlusty and Anna Hoehn of Waseca at the same date and time.

Kraemer will take on Eva Sullivan of Providence Academy in the opening round of the singles competition at 8 a.m. All the matches will be played at the Reed Sweatt Family Tennis Center in Minneapolis.
