U.S. Senator Amy Klobuchar’s Minnesota Morning event recently featured breakfast pastries from Roers Family Bakery in Alexandria.

After visiting different Minnesota bakeries and tasting favorite local foods, Klobuchar decided to serve these Minnesota specialties at her weekly Thursday morning coffee gatherings in her Washington, D.C. office.

“Roers is a great example of the family-owned small businesses that are the backbone of communities across Minnesota,” Klobuchar said. “I was delighted to bring their delicious treats from Alexandria and share them with our guests here in Washington.”

Roers Family Bakery, owned by Rory and June Roers, has been supplying Alexandria with baked goods since 1936. They offer a variety of pastries, doughnuts and cakes for all occasions.

Klobuchar invites all Minnesotans who are visiting the capital to her office for Minnesota Morning every Thursday while the Senate in is session.

Visitors can hear first-hand accounts of Klobuchar’s work in the Senate, mingle with fellow Minnesotans visiting Washington, meet the senator’s staff, and take photographs with the senator.
