Klimek is second at state Math Masters
Kailee Klimek, a 5th grader at Brandon Elementary School, was recently awarded second place in the state at the Math Masters Facts Drill.
Klimek and her Brandon teammates participated in the Regional Math Masters competition on April 26 at Woodland Elementary School in Alexandria.
In the fact drill round, she completed 75 order of operations problems in five minutes. Her score earned her a first place finish in the region and also qualified her to advance to the state level.
Mash Masters of Minnesota provides math competitions to thousands of students in 5th and 6th grade. The competitions challenge students to use critical thinking and problem-solving skills, while recognizing academic effort and achievement.
As a state winner, Klimek received tickets to a Minnesota Twins game.
