Klimek indicted on multiple counts of murder
A Douglas County Grand Jury returned a three-count murder indictment Wednesday against Kody Klimek in the stabbing death of Phillip Altstadt on June 1, 2013 in Alexandria.
The indictment charges Klimek with two counts of second-degree murder and one count of third-degree murder. Altstadt died of a stab wound on June 1, near an apartment complex located on 6th Avenue East and McKay Avenue in Alexandria.
Douglas County Attorney Chad Larson convened the grand jury and obtained an indictment for those murder charges against Klimek. Klimek has been held in the Douglas County Jail since June 1 on a criminal complaint for second-degree murder with unconditional bail set at $1,000,000.
Klimek was transported to court on Thursday, June 20, and was advised of the indictment. He remains in custody. A July 8 court date is scheduled.
