Sixth graders at Lincoln, Voyager, Woodland, Zion, Garfield and Carlos elementary schools were named Terrific Kids in ceremonies held at each respective school on March 16 and 17.

Terrific Kids is an elementary program of Kiwanis International. Kids who improve themselves and do good things for others in school, at home and in the community are recognized with a certificate of achievement.

Top achievers also receive a business award from one of 26 local business sponsors. Their pictures are on display at the Viking Plaza in Alexandria.

At Lincoln, 29 kids received certificates of achievement with 15 receiving business/volunteer awards, including Lexi Bear, Abbie Biegner, Hayley Burns, Isabelle Hartokolis, Michael Helgeson, Sam Helgeson, Amy Jost, Madisyn Klimek, Abbie Massmann, Breckan McCormick, Olivia Peterson, Kristen Schell, Elisabeth Thorson, Kylie Watt and Zach Wohlfeil.

At Voyager, 38 kids received certificates of achievement with 15 receiving business/volunteer awards, including Kailey Anderson, Brady Christenson, Abby DeReamer, Jared Gesell, Sam Klimek, Brooklyn Krohnfelt, Callie Lund, Jared McDonagh, Brittney Miller, Kaylee Mueller, Luke Schmitz, Davyn Thomson, Jake Wheeler, Wyatt Wittenburg and Grant Zwilling.

At Woodland, 36 kids received certificates of achievement with 17 receiving business/volunteer awards, including Abby Aker, Joe Berger, Kalley Blade, Aubrey Brackin, Josh Brezina, Caleb Buggert, Lily Clarstrom, Kyle Hanson, Briena Jarvi, Sheldon Johnson, Madison Keller, Erin Klang, Megan Mathwig, Jaela Pearson, Wyatt Rieselman, Toni Walker and Marielle Wosepka.

At Zion, seven kids received certificates of achievement with five receiving business/volunteer awards, including Alayna Gray, Caleb Goergen, Daniel Roers, Emily Safarik and Jaran Roste.

At Garfield, 14 kids received certificates of achievement with five receiving business/volunteer awards, including Sarah Buse, Hunter Idso, Autumn Klug, Gabby Way and Katie Wussow.

At Carlos, three kids received certificates of achievement and all received business/volunteer awards, including Chad Blank, Lucas Magnuson and Ryan Myhr.

The Terrific Kids program continues to grow with 127 students recognized in March and with 62 parents attending six award ceremonies. The program is managed locally by the Kiwanis Golden K Club in conjunction with school administration, teachers and business sponsors.
