Kiffmeyer to speak about voter ID at Tea Party meeting in Alexandria
The Alexandria Lakes Area Tea Party will host its monthly meeting on Tuesday, August 14 at 5:30 p.m. at the Broadway Ballroom.
It has invited all local candidates who do, or potentially could, represent parts of Douglas County; there are 10 of them -- DFLers and Republicans, although all of them may not be able to attend.
Also, Mary Kiffmeyer will talk about voter ID and answer questions. She is the chief author of the original bill in the Minnesota House that would have made the statutory change but it was vetoed by Governor Mark Dayton.
Kiffmeyer was also secretary of state for four years.
The event is open to the public.
