Kallista Banister is state pageant finalist

Kallista Banister, 7, of Starbuck was chosen as a state finalist in the National American Miss Minnesota Pageant to be held June 1-2 at Doubletree Hotel in Bloomington.

She is the daughter of Brian and Kim Banister of Starbuck and the granddaughter of Dennis and Sharon Nack of Nelson.

The National American Miss pageants are held for girls age 4-18 and have five different age divisions. Banister will participate in the princess age division.

The winner of the pageant will receive a $1,000 cash award, the official crown and banner, a bouquet of roses and air transportation to compete in the national pageant in California.

Banister's activities include Just For Kix dance, Community Education basketball and the Hancock School dance team.

The National American Miss pageants are dedicated to celebrating America's future leaders and equipping them with lifelong skills.
