Juvenile arrested after robbery, chase in Osakis
A robbery at the Osakis General Store Thursday ended quickly after a high-speed foot pursuit through Osakis.
At approximately 4:30 p.m. April 30, a juvenile male entered the General Store, broke the glass on a display case and stole two handguns.
As he ran off on foot, he was chased by store employees and a customer. During the pursuit, an individual called law enforcement with a cell phone and maintained contact with dispatch.
The Osakis Police Department was contacted and when the police arrived, the individual had been caught in the neighborhood of 18 West Pike Street.
He was transported to the law enforcement center in Alexandria and is now being held at the West Central Regional Juvenile Center in Moorhead until formal charges are filed. Because he is a juvenile, the suspect's name was not released.
