Just for Kix dancers compete in St. Cloud today
About 1,200 dancers from dozens of Minnesota cities will be competing at the Just For Kix United We Dance competition in St. Cloud today, Sunday.
Dancers from 2nd grade through 12th grade will do their best in an attempt to win first place. This is their time to show off the hard work they've been putting in during practice, noted organizers.
The competition is at Halenbeck Hall at St. Cloud State University. The day begins at 9:30 a.m. with the kick routine competitors. Jazz team competitions will follow in the afternoon. The competition is split into fourteen divisions and is expected to end at 5 p.m. Teams for the St. Cloud Area will compete in various categories throughout the day. There will also be teams from many other towns in Central Minnesota including; Willmar, Long Prairie, Princeton, New London/Spicer, Melrose, Sauk Centre and Brainerd.
Just For Kix began 29 years ago and strives to teach students dance skills, while also instilling in them self-confidence, teamwork and respect. JFK has been in the St. Cloud Area for more than 20 years under the direction of Sandy House.
Tickets for the event are $6 for adults and $3 for students, available at the door.
