Join Good Shepherd for Lenten worship dramas
The public is invited to join Good Shepherd Lutheran Church for its Lenten worship dramas, which will begin on Wednesday, March 5 at the church, 2702 Highway 29 North, Alexandria.
Each Wednesday evening in Lent, March 5 through April 9, during its 7 p.m. Lenten worship services, the church will depict a moment in the lives of James, Judas, Peter, Pilate, Barabbas and Dysmas.
The live dramas will continue Maundy Thursday, Good Friday and Easter Sunday with the depictions of the lives of the centurion, Mary the mother of Jesus, and the gardener of the cemetery on Easter morning.
Throughout the Old and New Testaments, there are passages referring to the voice of God. “If you listen closely to the voice of the Lord your God…” (Exodus 15:26) “From heaven, he made you hear his voice…” (Deuteronomy 4:36)
In each drama, the voice of God consistently speaks the message of God to those people near the cross, through his words of forgiveness, compassion and eternity.
