Jefferson students selling bowls, meal to fight hunger
Students at Jefferson High School (JHS) in Alexandria are planning an "Empty Bowls" fundraiser on Thursday, March 31 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the school cafeteria.
Empty Bowls is an international grassroots effort that works to end hunger. Craftspeople and others in the community work together to create handmade bowls. Guests are then invited to a meal in exchange for a cash donation for one of the handmade bowls as a reminder of all the people with empty bowls worldwide.
