Jefferson High School Class of 2013 graduates today
It's a moment that's been building ever since they took that first scary bus ride to school: graduation.
Commencement for Jefferson High School's Class of 2013 will take place this Sunday, June 2 at 2 p.m. at Citizens Field. In case of bad weather, it will be moved into the JHS gym.
After the students walk in to the music of Pomp and Circumstance, Jeremy Bydlon will give the welcome, followed by student speaker, Jazmin Roste.
The Alexandria Concert Choir will perform "Ease on Down the Road" and Courtney Wosepka will present "Home is Where the Heart Is."
Student speaker Megan Orpen is next on the program, followed by a performance of "Imagine" by the Senior Seven.
Chad Peterson will deliver the last student speaker remarks and Meghan Orgeman Crumb will present the commencement address.
After that, the class will be certified and presented, the graduates will receive their diplomas, Steve Deitz will give closing remarks and the students will turn their tassels to the next phase of their lives.
The Class of 2013 Class Motto (written by Henry David Thoreau) is, "Go confidently in the direction of your dreams. Live the life you have imagined."
