Jefferson High School celebrates homecoming today

Jefferson High School (JHS) in Alexandria caps off a a full week of homecoming activities today, Saturday. Here's what is left on the schedule:

Saturday, October 2 - game day

• Homecoming community parade at noon.

• Community pep rally immediately following the parade on the front lawn at JHS. Cash prizes will be awarded for first, second and third place student floats.

• Tailgate party at 12:30 p.m. at Citizens Field. Brats, hamburgers, hot dogs, turkey burgers, chips, pop and cookies will be served for $6 per person. Ice cream cones are $2. Features speakers will be Coach Mike Empting and other fall sports coaches.

• Cardinal football homecoming game at 3 p.m. at Citizens Field. There will be a halftime presentation of royalty and recognition of alumni football players.

• Homecoming dance for 10th to 12th graders at JHS gym from 9 p.m. to midnight. Cost is $5 if prepaid by October 1 or $10 at the door.
