Jeanne Larson to lead water media workshop
The Brush and Palette Club will offer local artists the opportunity to attend a water media workshop mainly offered in the Twin Cities or at art centers such as the Grand Marais Art Colony.
The three-day workshop will be held Wednesday through Friday, September 11-13 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Carlos Town Hall with presenter Jeanne Larson.
The workshop is titled "You: The Creative Genius." Participants will be encouraged to create their "own archeology of meaning in each individual piece of their art using layers of color and design."
Some may choose to work in only watercolor. Others may choose from a variety of water media, gouache, watercolor pencils or crayons, acrylics, and also metal leafing, collage and embossing materials, which will be available for experimentation and purchase.
Larson has taught classes of both traditional water color and mixed media/collage for many years in the Twin Cities and regional art centers.
She has won awards and has been the featured speaker for many art organizations and societies. For the last 20 years, she has been represented in several of the finest galleries of the region.
There will be daily demonstrations and plenty of one-to-one time with the instructor to answer questions about technique, materials and design.
