Jean Larson, 57
Jean Larson, 57, Long Prairie, died March 10, 2009 at Knute Nelson Nursing Home in Alexandria.
Mass of Christian burial was held Saturday, March 14 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Long Prairie with Fr. Rich Walz officiating. Interment was at Christ the King Catholic Cemetery in Browerville.
Jean was born July 9, 1951 in Long Prairie to George and Annabelle (Biermaier) Twardowski. She attended country school, St. Peter's Catholic School and Browerville High School. She was united in marriage to Kevin Larson on September 27, 1968 at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Browerville. They purchased a 10-acre hobby farm outside of Long Prairie in 1974 and raised a variety of farm animals.
She also enjoyed sewing clothing, costumes and quilts for her children, gardening, fishing, shopping, going for walks and above all making trips to Dairy Queen. She worked at Lantz Lense for nine years and at Harts Press from 1982 until 1994.
Jean was diagnosed in 1992 with Parkinson's disease at the age of 41. Her perseverance throughout the disease was endless. Her big smile will be missed by all.
Jean is survived by her mother, Annabelle Twardowski of Browerville; the love of her life, Kevin Larson of Long Prairie; children, Jacqueline (Greg) Rutten of Little Falls, Shannon (Rychel) Larson of Alexandria, Shari (Josh) Villeneuve of Little Falls, Kevin (fiancée, Jill Gerlach) Larson Jr. of Little Falls; siblings, Ralph (Ellie) Twardowski of Long Prairie, Marge Peterson of Cedar, Roger (Sue) Twardowski of Browerville, Donna (Jack) Berry of Cushing, Paulette (Bill) Connelly of Deer Creek, George (Lisa) Twardowski Jr. of Aurora, Colorado; and 14 grandchildren.
Jean was preceded in death by her dad, George; infant son, Robin; and infant grandson, Joseph.
