'It's a Wonderful Life' auditions slated
The Alexandria Area Arts Association (AAAA) will hold auditions for their holiday production, It's a Wonderful Life, on October 1-2 at 6:30 p.m. at the AAAA Theatre in downtown Alexandria.
The production requires 25 people, ranging between the ages of 8 and 80, according to director Sharon Thalmann. Auditions will be by reading from the script, so there is nothing to prepare. Interested people only need to attend one evening of auditions. The AAAA is a regional community theater and is open to anyone who wishes to audition.
It's a Wonderful Life has become as synonymous with the holidays as Dickens' Christmas Carol.
The story centers around the life of George Bailey, whose dreams of escape and adventure have been quashed by family obligation and civic duty. His guardian angel descends on Christmas Eve to save him from despair and reminds him (by showing what the world would have been like had he never been born) that his life has been, after all, a wonderful one.
It's a Wonderful Life will play on the AAAA stage on November 30, December 1-2 and 7-9. Rehearsals will begin October 22.
