Indie folk-rock duo You Knew Me When to perform September 6
As part of their year-long tour of the nation, the husband and wife duo of Cie and Karisa Hoover, otherwise known as You Knew Me When, will perform on Friday, September 6 at 8 p.m. at Sixth Avenue Wine and Ale in Alexandria.
After uprooting from their Nashville home and full-time jobs in June of 2012, the duo set plans to tour the nation for a full year. Since that time they have shared their music throughout the U.S. and Canada and released their sophomore album "You, Me, and the Rest of the World."
Released in late 2012, the album conveys the dualistic melding of the Hoovers' musical styles. It parades between a fusion of progressive indie-rock and folky compositions.
Karisa, who most recently served as a Nashville public school music teacher, provides the piano, ukulele and glockenspiel. Cie, who spent several years as the global events production manager for Gibson Guitar, supplies the guitar and rhythmic nuances.
Physical and digital copies of "You, Me, and the Rest of the World" are available at www.you
