If you’re not outraged, you’re not paying attention
To the editor:
If our gas and food prices go through the roof, I don’t think I can blame it on the Middle East or Russia. I will have to blame it on you and me. The United States of America has every single resource to be self-sufficient, yet we continue to depend on the rest of the world to supply us all our goods.
The U.S. is going to put economic sanctions on Russia. How can that even be possible when the U.S. dollar is on the verge of collapsing?
It seems people need to be reminded that history repeats itself. There was the fall of the Roman Empire, Stalin and Hitler. Adolf Hitler was a great speaker, charismatic, with a nice smile. When he came into power, he took over the automobile industry, gave government health-care, handed out coupon rations for sugar and flour, and then took everybody’s guns away.
If and when the dollar collapses, we will be on the barter system. It will be a shame to trade your Volkswagen or Mercedes for a couple loaves of bread.
I pray to God we come to our senses and vote the right people in to help wake this sleeping giant out of a bad dream, nightmare, coma, whatever, and that Washington, D.C., doesn’t end up like Kiev.
