Icy roads lead to fatal crash

A 66-year-old Alexandria man died in a one-vehicle rollover on Interstate 94 near Alexandria Friday.

Calvin Warren, 1947-2014Calvin C. Warren Jr. was driving a 2005 Dodge Ram at about 4 p.m. near mile marker 102 when he lost control of the vehicle, went into the ditch and rolled, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.

Road conditions at the time were icy. Warren was wearing a seat belt. No one else was in the vehicle, according to the accident report.

The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office also assisted at the scene.

Services for Warren will be held in the spring. Inurnment will be in Glenwood Lutheran Church Columbarium. Arrangements are with Hoplin-Hitchcock Funeral Home of Glenwood.

Warren attended school in Chicago, Illinois and was a 1967 graduate of Bogan High School in Chicago. He was retired at the time of his death.

He is survived by his brother, Edward “Ted” Warren of Alexandria, and his sister, Wanda Pagel of Mesa, Arizona.
