Humane society offers dog obedience classes
Starting on Tuesday, September 29 at 6 p.m., the Lakes Area Humane Society (LAHS) will hold Beginner Dog Obedience Training Classes.
Classes will be held on five consecutive Tuesday evenings from 6 to 7:30 p.m. and will be taught by local professional dog trainer, Randy Buker.
The first class will be held at the LAHS shelter and will be without dogs present.
The following four sessions will be held at the Alexandria Technical College Gym. Cost for the five-week course is $60 per dog enrolled and class size is limited to the first 15 registrants.
To register, call the Lakes Area Humane Society at 320-759-2260. All proceeds will benefit the animals cared for at the shelter.
Buker's experience spans back to his childhood where he was always surrounded by at least one dog. Over the years he has been a professional trainer where he trained individuals' dogs for obedience and hunting and acted as a consultant for a variety of behavior issues.
