Hope Evelyn (Mrs. Adrian) Hislop, 93, Alexandria, formerly of Windom, died in the comfort of her home on Friday, November 29, 2013, following her courageous battle with cancer.

Hope was born October 21, 1920 in Jeffers to Neal and Ruth (Roemer) Noble. She attended school in Jeffers and went on to graduate from Mankato State Teachers College.

She was united in marriage to her high school sweetheart, Adrian Hislop, on August 25, 1944 at St. Anns Catholic Church in San Diego, CA.

Hope had a successful 38-year career in teaching in several locations. Besides classroom teaching, she taught piano and organ, as well as primary kindergarten and school music. She was a church organist for over 20 years. Hope and Adrian were blessed with nearly 64 years of marriage.

Hope enjoyed traveling, playing cards, reading, embroidery work, sewing and fishing. She spent many hours teaching and playing the piano and had a great love of music.

Survivors include her children, Margaret (Michael) Stern of Aitkin, Kathy (Wayne) Fredin of Farwell and Andrea (Virg) Zunkel of Faribault; six grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Adrian; infant son, Paul; and one brother, Dallas Noble.

Funeral services were held at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Windom on Thursday, December 5 at 10 a.m. with Father Russell Scepaniak officiating. Interment was at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Cemetery in Windom.

A Time of Remembrance will be held on Saturday, December 7 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at The Senator, 1415 Lake Street, Alexandria.
