Hitting a grand slam

Alexandria Chevrolet Cadillac recently concluded its 2014 season partnership with Alexandria Area Baseball Association. It was one of 59 Chevrolet dealers from the Minneapolis-St Paul area that partnered with local youth baseball leagues for 2014.

Alexandria Chevrolet Cadillac provided Alexandria Area Baseball Association with new equipment, a monetary contribution and an opportunity for community members to raise funds for the league via a Test Drive fundraiser.

“We’re glad we were able to extend Chevrolet’s commitment to spreading joyful play to the members of our community,” said Brooke Steinbring of Alexandria Chevrolet Cadillac.

Alexandria Chevrolet Cadillac partnered with the Alexandria Area Baseball Association because of the league’s proximity to the dealership.

Equipment donated by Alexandria Chevrolet Cadillac included items such as bags, batting tees, catcher’s gear, water bottles and Chevrolet Youth Baseball T-shirts.

The sponsorship also included youth clinics featuring current and former MLB/MiLB players and coaches, as well as instructors from Ripken Baseball and the Major League Baseball Players Alumni Association.

These clinics allowed area kids the opportunity to go to Target field to receive the lead instruction.

“This partnership gave us the opportunity to support the love of the game and we are thrilled to have achieved such positive results for the community,” said Steinbring.

In 2014, more than 1,600 Chevrolet dealers participated in Chevy Youth Baseball. For more information about Chevy Youth Baseball, visit www.YouthSportsWired.com.
