An historical fix-up
Alexandria Rotary Club members Tim Bush, Connie Mondry, Gary Gibbons and Patty Peterson worked on staining the garden shed at the Douglas County Historical Society Friday. The shed was purchased for the historical society with a grant from the Alexandria Rotary Club.
The Alexandria Rotary Club is celebrating 75 years of service this summer. The local club has 85 members; worldwide membership tops 1.2 million.
Rotary members promote peace, fight disease, provide clean water, support education and nurture local economies, both locally and internationally, through the Rotary Foundation.
The Alexandria Rotary Club has sponsored many international and local projects, including study exchange groups from France, Mexico and Sweden. It provided one of the gazebos at the Maritime Gardens, the wood working room at Grand Arbor, and most recently, the new garden shed at the historical society.
