Help letter carriers stamp out hunger
Fill a bag. Feed families.
That's the goal of the National Association of Letter Carriers' "Stamp Out Hunger" Food Drive that takes place Saturday, May 12.
Letter carriers across the country, in partnership with the U.S. Postal Service, will be collecting food for families in need.
It's easy to help, the letter carriers said. Postal customers are encouraged to collect and bag non-perishable items, such as canned meats, soup, juice, vegetables, pasta, cereal and rice, and place them by their mailbox.
A letter carrier will deliver the items to a local food bank or pantry.
Customers should not include items that have expired or are in glass containers.
