Harvey Danielson, 96

Harvey Theodore Danielson, 96, Rose City, died Sunday, December 8, 2013 at St. Williams Living Center in Parkers Prairie.

Harvey was born January 6, 1917 to Oscar and Ellen (Skoglund) Danielson on the Danielson farm homestead in Spruce Hill Township, Douglas County.

He was united in marriage to Verna Peterson June 26, 1948. Following their marriage, they lived on the Danielson farm homestead where they raised their three children, Lois, Philip and Jane. His wife, Verna died May 22, 1975.

Harvey married Emmelyn Peterson Hewitt on August 5, 1978. Following their marriage, he was interested in restoring gas engines and old farm machinery. The most enjoyable time was the threshing festival on his farm. Harvey was a great woodsman, cutting down trees, sawing and splitting wood together with his wife of 35 years, Emmelyn. Harvey was active into his 90s and enjoyed time with family and friends.

Harvey was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Verna; sisters, Arlene (Elmer) Pederson and Norma (Earl) Carlson; aunts, uncles and cousins.

Harvey is survived by his wife, Emmelyn; two daughters, Lois (Gary) Linner of Burnsville and Jane (Ralph) Notaro of Bloomington; son, Philip (Nancy) Danielson of Elk River; four grandchildren, Jodi (Charlie) Stocke, Scott (Sarah) Linner, R.J. Notaro and Kristina (Ken) Friedricks; two great-grandchildren, Aubrey and Ryder; along with many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services are Friday, December 13 at 1 p.m. at Spruce Hill Church in Spruce Hill Township with the Rev. Ralph Erickson officiating. Music will be provided by organist, Kevin Lee and vocalists, the Rev. Jim and Irene Brown and John Chandler.

Burial will take place at the church cemetery. Pallbearers are Kendal Viereck, Kerwin Rosenquist, Steve Soderholm, Robert Hudspeth, Don Carlson, David Lusty and Larry Skoglund.

Visitation is Thursday, December 12 at Lind Family Funeral Home in Miltona beginning at 4 p.m. and conclude with a prayer service and time of sharing at 6:30 p.m. The visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church.

Arrangements are with Lind Family Funeral and Cremation Services;
