Hard Hat Breakfast draws 550 people Wednesday morning

By 6:30 a.m. Wednesday, more than 550 people had descended upon Broadway Ballroom to hear about the impact of local giving.

Habitat for Humanity of Douglas County hosted its 9th annual Hard Hat Breakfast and volunteers and families shared their experiences working with the organization.

Amy Chaffins

During her journalism career, Amy earned writing and photography awards from the Associated Press, Minnesota Newspaper Association and Society of Professional Journalists. Amy and her husband, Brandon, live in Alexandria and together write “He Sez, She Sez,” a humor column in the local women’s magazine, Chicz. Away from work, Amy and Brandon spend time bass fishing and keeping tabs on their charismatic dog, Cash, who has been known to jump out of the boat to “retrieve” the bass lures.
