Hanson earns Eagle Scout rank
Logan Hanson, son of Michelle Hanson of Alexandria, completed his Eagle Board of Review on August 29. He is a senior at Jefferson High School in Alexandria.
Hanson's project was the re-roofing and repainting of the bathrooms at Smokey Timbers Camp on Lake Miltona.
Hanson began scouting in September 2003 as a Boy Scout in Troop 472. He served as assistant patrol leader, senior patrol leader and a troop guide. He has been active at Grey Wolf, National Youth Leadership Training, serving two years as troop guide and two years as an assistant senior patrol leader of the troop guides.
This summer he attended the 100th anniversary of Boy Scouts Jamboree in Bowling Green, Virginia, serving as the 3rd assistant scoutmaster.
He has been a part of High Adventure Camps and has attended numerous summer and winter camps. He is a master scuba diver, is on the high school track team, an explorer on the Alexandria Fire Department and vice president of FFA. He is continuing his Scout career by being a member of the Venture Crew, chartered by the Maritime Museum in Alexandria.
